After almost 3 years of continued harassment by the British press, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (aka the real MVPs) have this week declared their intention to step down as senior members of the royal family and strive for ‘financial independence’. 👸🏽🤴🏼
It’s a huge step for the monarchy as the Sussexes continue to represent modernity in an ever traditional institution which leaves many of the public questioning exactly how Megan and Harry will market themselves during and after the transition. 🏛 🏰 👑
While I am certainly (not for lack of trying) not apart of the ‘Sussex Strategy Team’, we can get some ideas on how they may handle this from the likes of ex-presidents, political figures, CEO’s and Hollywood stars who have abandoned the high positions they once held for more personal brands and ‘humbler’ stations.
Looking to Barack Obama, the Father of the Fragile World for example here, we see both him and Michelle’s exit from the White House as one of the most heart felt loses of the modern age, which was quickly followed up by autobiographies, speaking conferences and documentary deals – extremely similar to that of the late Princess Di. 📽🎙📓
This model is certainly what we can expect the D&D to be looking at to help achieve both their OOO personal brands and revenue streams in the coming years as #megxit becomes a reality! 👸🏽🤴🏼
And love them or hate them, their desire to live a fulfilled and meaningful life while giving their son a more all rounded upbringing is a perfect example of ‘removing yourself from situations you cannot be in’ and to that we say alright, alright, alright! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
